Report Summary

The consumer reported that the candle in glass jar exploded spewing glass and burning liquid wax, when 24 YOF was burning it in her room. It burned out quickly, but liquid wax splashed onto a nearby wall tapestry, which could have set the room ablaze.

  • Incident Description: Target Corporation 20oz Lidded Milky Glass Jar 3-Wick Apple Blossom and Breeze Candle - Threshold candle exploded. My daughter was burning this candle in her room, working on her computer, when it exploded, spewing glass and burning liquid wax. Fortunately, it burned out quickly, but the liquid wax did splash onto a nearby wall tapestry, which could have set the room ablaze.
