64 YO plugged 2 tools into an extension cord. Upon plugging in the 2nd tool, the extension cord started arcing & caught fire & neither tool was on. Both tool cords prongs melted & consumer received 2nd degree burns to their hand. Consumer was seen by a medical professional.

  • Incident Description: I plugged 2 tools into a Husky (by home depot) extension cord. upon plugging in the 2nd tool, the cord started arcing and caught fire and neither tool was on. Both tool cords had the prongs melt and I received 2nd degree burns to my hand. It seems the cord end was not constructed correctly for the 2 cords to have some how made contact for arcing.
