Associated Recall
Incident Details
  • Incident Description: GE has multiple failures of responsibility and risked my safety. This isn't an isolated incident of missing minimum expectations and standards. They have not taken responsibility nor ownership for resolving an appliance fire known and under recall for that specific issue. GE has ignored the following failures. 1. Acknowledge and take ownership this was a known fire hazard risk recall and the appliance caught fire anyhow. 2. Acknowledge and take ownership their repair/remedy, in 2018 failed to ensure my safety and did not resolve the fire hazard 3. Acknowledge and take ownership. Their technician failed to service my appliance on 9/10/20 and pushed me out 3 further weeks. I watched on their website tracking system for 3 hours while he just wandered the area instead of doing his job. I had to sit on hold for 2 hours with dispatch before I could even speak with a human being to address this. 4. Acknowledge and take ownership that expecting a home owner should tolerate an appliance prone and known to catch fire should not remain in a home for 5 weeks causing an unsafe environment. 5. Acknowledge and take ownership that replacing the unit because of complete failure by GE is a reasonable course of action after 5 weeks of being ignored and not serviced by GE. GE has placed my family at risk by failing to reduce the risk of a KNOWN fire hazard appliance that was recalled and their response is "too bad", we will not compensate for failures. This delay has not been on my end once. GE's OWN technician explained, there is a significant shortage of appliance supplies by GE and replacement units are unavailable for purchase or replacement. They have not offered anything to resolve this matter after significant communication with customer relations.
