Report Summary

While 64 YOM was using screen tool to cut replacement pet window screening, cutting blade pivoted within tool handle & pried open tool handle exposing his hand to opposite end of cutting blade. He stated that eventually blade completely dislodges from tool.

  • Incident Description: While I (a 64 year-old adult with an engineering degree) was using the Saint-Gobain ADFORS "Screenmaster 2-in-1 Screen Tool (UPC 011646730947) to cut replacement pet window screening, the cutting blade [REDACTED] pivoted within the tool handle and pried open the tool handle exposing the users hand to the opposite end of the cutting blade. Eventually the blade completely dislodges from the tool. No injury occurred as it was obvious the blade was not cutting well due to the changing angle of the blade.
