32 YOF was assembling trampoline using spring pulling tool provided in package to attach springs to frame. Weld on tool broke & sliced right index & middle fingers & then tool flew, slicing left index finger. Tool flew & hit her sister on leg. 32 YOF was threated in ED.

  • Incident Description: The submitter was assembling the trampoline and using the tools provided in the package. She used the spring pulling tool to attach 67 springs to the frame and as she went to pull the 68th, the weld on the tool broke. The submitter said the tool sliced her right index and middle when it broke and then the tool flew, slicing her left index finger. She said the tool flew approximately 35 feet and hit her sister on the leg. The submitter just moved and she had to contact her Doctor to check if she needed a tetanus shot. On May 16, the submitter went to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center: Emergency Room and she said they removed some skin and gave her a tetanus shot. The submitter said she called the firm on May 15 and 16 (877-927-8777). On May 16 she spoke with [REDACTED] who advised her to send pictures of the broken tool, the injuries and her hospital documents ([REDACTED]). The submitter said she called today and they told her that they could not assist her with the claim and advised her to stop calling them. The submitter then contacted the retailer, Walmart and they advised her to contact CPSC and the BBB to file a complaint.
