Power scooter was ridden a few days & charged. The scooter was in a moving vehicle when the operator heard a crackling sound then a piece shot off the board with a small flame. He stopped the car then heard another loud "pop" & the board “explodes" with heavier flames.

  • Incident Description: Hoverboard was ridden a few days and charged. The hoverboard was in a moving vehicle when the operator heard a crackling sound then noticed the gold color hoverboard changing colors to black. the owner of the vehicle heard a "pop" sound then a piece shot off the board with a small flame. He stopped the car then heard another loud "pop" and saw another part of the board "explode" with heavier flames. HE exited his vehicle and called 911. The vehicle is a total loss. The Hoverboard was purchased online from AliExpress on 11/27/2015 and was given to his daughter as a Christmas present.
