Incident Details
- Incident Description: I purchased a large jar candle from Yankee Candle in May 2015. I used the candle in my living room on my brand new coffee table with a table runner under the candle. I trimmed the wick and used the "safe candle" instructions suggested by Yankee. I was cleaning the next day and i was dusting my coffee table and tried to remove the table runner and the candle from the table and the runner had melted to my table. The table runner was melted to the bottom of the candle as well. The candle was not melted the entire way down the candle, only about 2 inches, as i had only burned it for 3 or so hours the night before. The runner that was adhered to my table removed the finish in the perfect ring of the melted candle. I immediately contacted Yankee Candle by email to file a claim. They have responded with template after template that my claim is still being processed. I sent them the candle for their investigation. I also sent them pictures of the damage to my table. They are not concerned about the heat transference from the candle and possible fire risk to my home and the danger to my family. They will not respond with any solution. Consumers need to know the possible risk involved or they need to pull the candle. It was a large Summer Scoop candle purchased in the Cranberry Township, Pa store. I have all of the pictures of the candle and the damage.

- If yes to any, explanation: i contacted the manufacturer the day of the incidnent by email. They have been totally irresponsible in accepting responsibility for the faulty product. I has been over a month with no resolve or even an attempt to solve. They have the candle.
