  • Incident Description: Replacement after-market lithium ion battery for Dyson V15 vacuum (DTK brand) was sold to us by Amazon. Within minutes of being placed on the charger, the battery exploded and set fire to a closet and contents. The heat melted the light fixture in the ceiling. Fortunately, we were at home when this occurred, with a fire extinguisher available, or the entire house would have burned. No injuries occurred other than smoke inhalation.
