Incident Details
- Incident Description:
It happened last Friday afternoon.Since I needed to make? formula milk, I gave? ?my baby your chew toy? ?to keep him busy. Suddenly I heard the baby screaming and his lips? ?are bleeding. ?I saw that his lips got cut with a big wound. At the time he was lying down in his crib and the only toy he had access to is the chew toy. Even while he was crying loudly, he was still holding the toy. I felt super hurt. I can't believe the toy is so dangerous and made for the baby!
After checking, I figure out the cut was truly made from the edge of the chew toy. There is a sharp edge on the yellow hard plastic area. It is due to poor design or manufacturing.
I had contacted the manufacturer but they did not admit any of this problem and ask to send back the toy back to them for inspection. I don't feel trust to send it back there for I come to you, hope could get the help from you. Thanks.

Comments from the Manufacturer/Private Labeler
- We have been in contact with this consumer previously and have asked her to send back the item for our review however the consumer has decided not to do this. As we have not seen the actual item it is hard to comment on this specific piece however we have checked our stock on the item and current production at the factory and have not found any sharp points or edges that would cause such a injury. We test all of our items to various worldwide standards - EN71, ASTM, ISO8124 and Canadian standards and this item has passed all of these. Part of these standards include tests for sharp points and edges thus we feel confident that our design conforms to within all the safety guidelines for teethers. As we have also checked our stock as well as production and have not had any complaints on this item we can only surmise that this is either a one off issue or the incident was not caused by this item. Without reviewing the actual sample that the consumer has we can not tell if there is any deviation from our current stock or production. We would like to look at this further if the consumer would be willing to send us back the sample.
