Incident Details
- Incident Description: I have a Belkin extension cord with a rotating plug and it could have started a fire. When I went on Amazon to review the product I found some of reports of the same thing, and pictures just like mine with the plug melted in the same way. Belkin replied to my post and asked for me to contact them. I know they are going to ask for me to send them the cord but I read in an article (this has made the news) that the last person who did that Belkin took the cord and wouldn't send it back and said everything was fine. Well things are not fine this could have burned my house down.
I would like CPSC to take the cord and investigate.
To see the review I left with pictures go here: https://www.amazon.com/review/R1PKXBSUKEYRIQ/ref=pe_1098610_137716200_cm_rv_eml_rv0_rv
You can see for that product a number of other 1 star reviews with pictures. Mine is an older model of that product but has the same rotating plug. I think that is the problem.
