  • Incident Description: The first day that we used this toaster oven, the door "exploded". We were heating up spanakopita according to the directions: the baking tray was in position A, lined with aluminum foil (as several recipes in the instruction and recipe booklet instructed), the oven was preheated for 5 minutes, and it was set on "bake" at 375 degrees. After 10 minutes we heard a crash in the kitchen. The too of the door had come off, leaving shattered pieces of glass on the counter and floor. There was a hole across the top of the door and the remaining glass was shattered. Pieces of shattered glass continued to fall off the door. We carefully turned the dial to off and unplugged the oven from the wall. We were very fortunate that no one had been standing near the toaster oven when the door shattered, sending pieces of shattered glass out at least 3 feet in front of it. My husband did get cut by the glass when he was cleaning it up and taking the food out of the oven.
