Incident Details
- Incident Description: I purchased two Simplicity for Children Providence 4-1 cribs, and initally the were fin with the exception of the paint exposed on the railing and my twin nawing it off (the wood on the railing should have had a plastic guard) which caused me great concern. Once it was converted to a tolddler bed it became a hazard. the Toddler safety rails reqiure the bottom to be screwed into the metal matteress support. The screws will not stay in no matter how much they are tightened on either bed. One of my twins almost choked on one of the screws, luckily I was in the room and was able to get the screw from her mouth. They ended up breaking the rails because they would not stay screwed in. On one of the cribs the rear side rail ended up cracking with a small amount of preasure administered by my 3 year old because without the safety rail screwed in for support the side rails sway easily and cause stain on the Rearside rail. I tried to contact them as I am sure a recall is neccesary as both beds have the sam problem and I am sure other must as well as the metal screws will not secure in the metal rail with out something to hold them there, however the phone number is disconnected, I have been able to find another number online that was also disconnected and there is no website.
