The throw was turned to the "low" setting for approximately 10 minutes, when the consumer noticed a burning odor. The middle of the blanket was smoking, the cord inside the blanket had melted and caused some of the other bedding to burn. The consumer immediately unplugged it from the wall outlet and took the blanket outside. The consumer estimates that it was used 3 - 4 times per week, depending on how cold it was.

3/30/2020: The consumer sent the firm an email about the incident and she received a return call the next day. The rep. offered to send the consumer another blanket and requested that she send the damaged blanket back. The consumer is not sure that she would feel safe with a replacement blanket from the firm, but she did agree to return the blanket that was involved in the incident.

There was number on the tag (M136VF071760191101F09K11), but there was no indication of what that number represented.

There were no injuries.
