A Microsoft Surface Pro 4, purchased in July/16, recently started to overheat when charging. The over heating was so server that the user obtained injury. As a result of the over heating, the device's battery swelled to the point where it pushed the screen out. A quick Google search shows this to be a common issue with the Surface Pro, and in some reported cases, the battery reportedly exploded.

In speaking to Microsoft, they acknowledge that this product does have a defective battery and will only recall those devices sold within 3 years of the initial warranty.

Considering the potential injury factor, let a lone the explosion factor, MS should be required to recall all devices that show this issue to be current.
