All the Greenlight matches we've bought have been this way.

We have bought all the matches from local stores.

The new so-called "Greenlight" Diamond brand strike-on-box and strike-anywhere matches are an extremely unsafe product. I don't know if they are using less wood or if the wood is a poor quality, but the matches are extremely breakable.
We have often found matches in the box that are barely in one piece. Some of them were far too thin to strike without snapping; fortunately we examined them and threw them away, but someone could easily have been injured if they weren't paying attention.
Many times, upon striking a match, the flaming heads have snapped off and flown across the room. One started to burn the wood of my dresser until I threw water on it. Another landed in a pile of clothes and could easily have started a fire. Another actually landed on my head, singed my scalp, and started to burn my hair. These incidents happened with multiple different boxes.
