GE soft white 100 watt bulbs

GE soft white incandescent bulbs exploding. Contain pressurized capsule inside which can explode. Result was molten glass exploding outward from bulbs. No injuries...we were out of the room both times, but carpet was melted and molten glass adhering to carpet. Carpet burned, table burned. If a person had been switching lamp at the time of explosion, result would have been severe, deep burns, with molten glass stuck inside lower dermal layer of skin.

Apparently many others have experienced this. Why are these bulbs even permitted to sell?
