The Cuisinart DLC-10E food processor 4mm slicing disk (part number FP-104) was being used to slice cabbage to make cole slaw. I noticed that the slicing disk was making noise and, upon inspection, I saw that the rivets that attach the metal slicing disk to the plastic stem were loose. The plastic stem was cracked where the rivets attach to it and the plastic from the stem was loose in the food processor. There are three rivets that hold the plastic stem to the slicing disk and two of the rivets have been compromised, rendering the blade unsafe and unusable. No injuries were sustained, but the potential for accidental ingestion of plastic from the stem or being hit by it exists.
