I'm writing because I have some concerns regarding a GE dehumidifier ADEL70LRL 1.

I have two in my basement. The two dehumidifiers are setup to run based on the level of humidity in the based. I noticed one was running significantly more than the other one so I went to check on it. They are both set up with the hose drain and where set to 50% and connected to a surge suppressor. I removed the bin, so I could see if there was an issue with the hose, I found an area to be significantly discolored. I proceeded to touch the area, and found it to be significantly hot. I disconnected the unit. I also noticed a mild smell of plastic burning. Then went to retrieve my infrared thermometer and took several reading. The unit in the discolored area read above 200F.
I then went and checked on the second unit and found no discoloration and the temperature to be around 120F.
