(09/15/2016) The consumer stated that she awoke to the refrigeration beeping. She opened the refrigerator door and discovered that it was hot on the inside. The light at the top of the refrigerator was very hot. There are two light bulbs at the top that were very hot. The liner around the bulbs had melted through to the insulation of the refrigerator.

(09/15/2016) The consumer called the firm to find out if this was an issue with others. She was advised that it was not. While the consumer was asking about safety, she was advised that her product was out of warranty. The consumer asked to speak to a supervisor. The consumer was placed on hold. When the representative came back to the phone, she was advised that her supervisor will tell her the same thing, that the product was no longer under warranty. The consumer stated again that it was a safety issue and asked to speak to a supervisor. The consumer spoke to [REDACTED], who identified herself as a Corporate Manager. The consumer was advised again that the product was not under warranty. The consumer still insisted that it was a safety issue and explained what happened and stated that the product could have caught on fire. The corporate manager advised her that the product would not have caught on fire.

The consumer was offered a 30% discount on replacement parts.
