I was baking a potato in my GE gas range. The oven has been in the home since 1992. I went in the other room to read a magazine and then heard a loud boom and glass breaking. I went into the kitchen to see that my oven door had exploded. The glass was still popping on the ground even after the explosion. Thankfully I was waiting until my potato was closer to being ready before finishing the rest of the meal, or I would have been standing directly in front of the oven. The glass exploded pretty far, I am also thankful that my dog was not injured by the glass. Contacted GE, they sent a technician. Technician said "you got twice the life out of the unit." It still works but we don't have the glass available, and we can't offer anything on a new one.
