Purchased SoleusAir (portable air conditioner/dehumdifier / 60 pint) Model: HCB-P13HP-D,
S/N 1005110103001400068, on 8/11/2014 from our local Fry's Electronics. On 7/02/2015, at approximately 7:30pm, we noticed a slight burning smell of melting plastic and tendrils of smoke emitting from our electrical outlet. Immediately I turned off the Soleus unit and pulled the GFI plug from the outlet. At that time, the GFI outlet belonging to the unit had burn and melt marks around the prongs along with an extremely hot electrical cord. While removing the plug and cord, I received a burn mark on my arm.

I have attempted to contact SoleusAir for many days at the number listed as (888) 876-5387 to no avail. I have called morning, noon, and evening and have never been connected as the line called resumes to a constant busy signal.

I believe this product to be a fire hazard and if we were not at home at the time, fire damage to our home would have most definitely occurred.

Have consistently attempted to contact manufacturer at number and website listed, to no avail. Phone consistently deflects to busy signal day and night.
