I plugged my Lasko heater in to run for the night because the house was cold and the temperatures were going to be below 0 with the wind chill. When I woke up the heater was smelling like something was burning and the plastic molding around the front is melted in 2 places. It was sitting in the middle of the room so not around anything to cause it to overheat but it did and it didn't shut itself off. I am concerned that with the melting of the molding it malfunctioned and could have caused a house fire. I tried to reach the manufacturer multiple times but just sat on hold for 20-30 minutes and no one answered the phone. I even left my phone number for them to call me back and I still haven't hear from them.
