4/19/2013
12/20/2014 (Approximately) The consumer put a pan in the range for approximately ten minutes in order to cook his dinner. After turning off the unit, the consumer noticed flames shooting up from the edges of the pan. The consumer proceeded to place a wet rag on the flames in order to stop it.

The consumer indicates the gaskets between the burners as well as the plates were damaged as they do not appear to be metal. The consumer indicates the material used may be plastic though he is uncertain of this. The consumer believes whatever material is used is wrong for appliances requiring high temperatures.

12/21/2014 (Approximately) The consumer contacted the manufacturer and explained what happened. The representative he spoke to informed him that they would send a Technician to repair his unit as he explained in detail what was damaged. The manufacturer would order the parts and have it installed.

12/30/2014 The Technician, from a service company named Great Oaks Appliance (248-624-9830) repaired the consumer's unit by replacing the damaged parts. The Technician left the damaged parts for the consumer. The consumer indicates his range looks brand new.

The consumer states that his unit is still under warranty. The consumer indicates that this is the first time he has had any issues with his unit. The consumer indicates no damages occurred to is home but is concerned other people may not be as lucky.

The consumer has no injuries to report. The consumer believes this product poses a safety and fire hazard.

wgm 02/19/15 from consent form submitter states: The consumer put a pan on the burner for appr 10 minutes in order to cook dinner. The consumer noticed flames shooting up over the edges of the pan and fire on gasket and backplate. After turning unit off the consumer proceeded to place a wet rag on flames to stop fire.
