Summer of 2011 my Kenmore dehmidifier was overheating. It smelled horrible and I think was very close to catching on fire, but I luckily smelled it and unplugged it. Obviously, the unit was literally toast. So, that fall I brought it to be recycled. I have my manuals and reciept for the unit that I had to discard, I may even have a receipt for recycling the unit (not sure).

When I got the card about a recall I thought that I should have been compensated, but they said because I didn't have the unit they couldn't do anything. So, if there is a lawsuit I just wanted to at least report what had happened to us with this unit.

Kenmore dehumidifier from 2004: Model # 580.54701400.

Thanks for your concern.

Sincerly,
