Over the weekend, my GE dishwasher heating unit remained on over 24 hours after a wash cycle was completed. The dishwashers model number GLD6200L15WW serial number RL748615B was not included in the most recent recall on August 9, 2012 for a similar issue. My 21 month daughter touched the outside of the dishwasher door and said 'OUCH! HOT!' My husband and I both touched the dishwasher thinking that she was confusing hot and cold but found out that it was extremely HOT and checked my daughters hand. Her hand did not sustain any burns but when we opened up the dishwasher the dishes was so hot that it had to be handled by a pot holder to avoid getting burned. The outside wooden frame of the dishwasher was also hot. We immediately turned off the circuit breaker to the dishwasher and also our disposer as they are connected. We have not been able to use the dishwasher or the disposer since then. I have called GE and they have stated that this model was not covered under the recall but I have to pay for a diagnosis with GE technician to determine if this is in fact a recall issue. This is a huge safety issue and should be looked at.
