The consumer stated that on 01/25/2012, she set her space heater’s thermostat to a setting that would allow the heater to turn on and off, to maintain a warm temperatures in her bathroom. The consumer said that she set the heater to this setting because she had 3 baby kittens in the bathroom and she wanted the kittens to be warm.

The consumer stated that while she was at work she received a call around 11:50am telling her to go home. When the consumer arrived to her home, she discovered that her trailer was on fire.

The consumer stated that the Fire Department’s report said that the trailer was total lost. The consumer’s trailer was 3 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen area and one bathroom. The consumer stated that she has lost her home, furniture, personal belonging, and her pets, 3 baby kittens, 3 dogs and 6 adult cats. All of her pets passed away from smoke inhalation. The consumer stated that Fire Department’s report stated that the fire was caused by the space heater that overheated.

The consumer stated that she has lost everything, and that she did not have trailer’s insurance, because she could not afford it.

The consumer feels that the space heater poses a fire hazard.
