WE own a GE Profile 30" dual fuel convection range model #J2B918SEK3ss, serial #LL202846P, PURCHASED 07/01/2006. The unit has a warming tray/oven below the regular oven. On September 27, 2011 we discovered that the dishwasher had been leaking and reported a claim to State Farm Insurance. State Farm sent the local Service Master firm to remove the damaged flooring. During this process I was called to the kitchen and shown the vinyl flooring under the above referenced range. The top layer of vinyl (aprox. 4 to 5 years old) had a dinner plate size burn under the area of the warming tray and the second layer of vinyl, much older, had a smaller burn through to the pine sub flooring.

I have both layers of the flooring. I have digital photos of the flooring as each layer was removed.

GE service techs said the range was installed correctly with a minimum of 1/4 inch clearance.

The company installing the new vinyl states they have never experienced this problem before.
The company that sold the top layer of the vinyl that was burned states they have never experienced this problem before.
Service Master states they have never experienced this problem before.

GE has not provided any assistance in correcting, repairing or replacing the range.

I feel that this product is a danger to our house and to our lives.

For the incident date I have used the discovery date.
