About a month ago, I put a microwavable bowl in microwave to heat up food. I placed a paper towel over it as I used to do frequently in my previous microwave. Within seconds, the towel caught fire. I unplugged microwave and took care of it. I assumed it was the paper towel or that you shouldn't use paper towels in microwave and have not done it since. However, the past three times that I have made microwave popcorn, the bag ends up burning, the kernels fly all over the microwave and about a quarter of the bag pops into popcorn. I don't understand why a microwavable bag of popcorn burns in the microwave and just to be clear, this has not been the same brand of popcorn so it has to be an issue with the microwave. I feel this is very dangerous and should be investigated.
